Sensei Les Edwins has been training in the art of Kajukenbo for more than 15 years. He is a 3rd Degree Black Belt under the instruction of his mentor, Grand Master Bob Maschmeier,a 9th Degree Black Belt in Kajukenbo and founder of Coast Karate Studio Headquarters in Pacifica, CA which oversees nine Coast Karate Studio Facilities.

Under the approval of both his Grand Master (Maschmeier) and the late Professor Joseph Halbuna (Maschmeier's Master Teacher), Sensei Les Edwins started his own school, "East Bay Self Defense" a division of "Coast Karate Studio Headquarters" and began teaching private and classroom lessons in 1993 in Hayward,CA moving to Antioch,CA in 1999. In addition, Edwins also taught at the Coast Karate Studio Dojo (his original dojo home) in Pacifica, CA.

On December 9th, 2002 Sensei Les Edwins was seriously injured in a car accident suffering multiple traumatic injuries.

While Sensei Les remains in recovery and is unable to teach at this time,he dedicates this web site in honor of his great life long passion for the art and his profession--- KAJUKENBO.
